Inaugural Americas Event Set to Attract 30,000 Attendees and 1,000 Exhibitors
Atlanta: The GSMA today announced the first details of the 2017 GSMA Mobile World Congress Americas, in partnership with CTIA, including confirmed exhibitors, partners, programmes and activities taking place at the new mobile industry event. Under the theme “The Tech Element”, Mobile World Congress Americas will be held September 12 – 14, 2017 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. It is expected that 30,000 professionals from across the mobile industry and adjacent industry sectors will attend Mobile World Congress Americas 2017.
“We are very excited to be launching Mobile World Congress Americas, our first large-scale event addressing North, Central and South America, with our partner CTIA,” said Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. “Mobile World Congress Americas will highlight innovation in areas such as 5G and next-generation networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the intersection of mobile with entertainment, content and media. We’ll also look at how mobile technology is transforming entire industries, providing new levels of productivity and efficiency for enterprises in sectors from automotive to health to utilities and beyond, as well as the positive impact that mobile is having for billions of people around the world.”
Exhibition to Showcase More Than 1,000 Companies
The exhibition at Mobile World Congress Americas brings together the leading players from across the mobile ecosystem as well as adjacent industry sectors, putting the spotlight on the innovative products, services and technologies that are shaping the mobile landscape. More than 1,000 companies will participate at Mobile World Congress Americas 2017 through exhibition stands, pavilions and hospitality space. Among the companies already confirmed for Mobile World Congress Americas are Amdocs, AT&T, Ericsson, Gemalto, Giesecke & Devrient, Huawei, Mannopov, Mobilitie, Nokia, PayPal, Qualcomm, Rohde & Schwarz, Safran Identity and Security, Samsung Electronics America, Samsung Electronics Networks, Sprint, Syniverse Technologies, TELUS, TracFone Wireless, Twilio, Verizon, VMware and ZTE. The show floor will also include several country pavilions, with Canada, China, India and Korea already confirmed to host pavilions. Mobile World Congress Americas Conference
The conference at Mobile World Congress Americas will run from Tuesday, September 12 through Thursday, September 14, with each day offering a mix of visionary keynote presentations, focused track sessions and sponsored summits. The conference program will explore major themes including Consumer IoT, Content and Media, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Networks, Platforms and Sustainable Development. The conference will also include a dedicated educational track focusing on Government and Public Policy, which is being developed with CTIA. The Call for Papers for the Mobile World Congress Americas conference is currently open and submissions will be accepted through 11:59 pm PDT on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
Further, Mobile World Congress Americas will feature several summits, including the Connected Vehicle Summit, the Virtual Reality Summit, the Women4Tech Summit and 4 Years From Now (4YFN) – Carriers and Start-Ups. Meetings and Events at Mobile World Congress Americas
Mobile World Congress Americas will also be host to a number of other solutions-and-impact/connectivity-for-good/public-policy/regulatory-environment/mobile-energy-efficiencytings, partner events and seminars. Partner Programs developed by leading players from across the mobile ecosystem will provide invaluable learning opportunities for Mobile World Congress Americas attendees. The Besen Group will host a half-day program, ”How Cable Operators Launch a Successful MVNO”, on Tuesday, September 12, while The Branding Network will hold the two-day event, “Wireless Repair Expo 2017”, on Tuesday, September 12 and Wednesday, September 13. Also on September 13, Award Solutions, the Official Technology Training Partner of Mobile World Congress Americas, will offer a full-day program focusing on the evolution of today’s networks to 5G, and Bottle Rocket will hold a full-day program targeting mobile executives.
GSMA Mobile World Congress Americas, in partnership with CTIA, is the latest addition to the GSMA’s growing portfolio of leading mobile industry events. The GSMA’s flagship event, Mobile World Congress, takes place annually in Barcelona and will next be held February 27 – March 2. The GSMA also organizes Mobile World Congress Shanghai, which will be held June 28 – July 1, as well as the Mobile 360 Series of regional conferences with events throughout the year.
